Ending The “I want” Battle
Going to the grocery with one child in the cart or three children on hand, for anyone, is a big task. Taking today’s children to the grocery, that I am convinced are born with a genetic component in which begging for a new toy, more crayons, a different set of markers, another water bottle that has sparkles or even a pair of mittens that are on the Soda Isle, is inevitably a recipe for disaster, unless, today’s parents begin implementing Allowance.
Allowance is not only a way for parents to implement a stop and cease order against begging children that turn into unruly monsters when not given what they want but also an educational way for parents to teach their children a little to do about finances.
Most adults do not understand the true value of a dollar until they have had the ability to make financial successes and ultimately have had a few financial failures along the way. Giving your child allowance is a fantastic way to set them up for financial success and a rather inexpensive way to teach them about financial failures.
There are only three very important key elements in reaching your goal of eliminating the toddler, tween and teenage monsters our children become when begging ensues; Set Up Guidelines, Set Up A Savings Account & remember financial failures now will set up your child for success in the future.
